Music of the Christmas Season - Fourth post; Light Show

December 16

Peter Wilhousky added these lyrics to the tune of this Ukraine folk music.
The Original lyrics to the song by Mykola Leontovych Shchedryk, meaning bountiful, were sung at New Years. www.carols.org.uk

Carol of the Bells

Hark how the bells, sweet silver bells,
all seem to say, throw cares away

Christmas is here, bringing good cheer,
to young and old, meek and the bold.

Ding dong ding dong, that is their song
with joyful ring all caroling.

One seems to hear words of good cheer
from everywhere filling the air.

Oh how they pound, raising the sound,
o'er hill and dale, telling their tale.

Gaily they ring while people sing
songs of good cheer, Christmas is here.

Merry, Merry, Merry, Merry Christmas,
Merry, Merry, Merry, Merry Christmas.

On on they send, on without end,
their joyful tone to every home.

Ding dong ding... dong!

This Christmas light display is a Christmas gift to all from the Holdmans in Utah. They also donate any free-will contributions to the Make A Wish Foundation.

  4. I just love the Carol of the bells. We love watching the version with Andy Williams and his brothers.

Sorry I haven't been by for a while. We have just returned home from a week away in Hong Kong and I am so behind in my visits! I haven't even started on my Christmas shopping and I feel very disorganized!

Take care and if I don't get to pop by before the 25th, blessings and best wishes to you and your family for Christmas.
    Natasha.

  5. As a piano teacher I have at least one or two students every holiday season that want to learn Carol of the Bells. Good thing I like it! I really enjoyed this amazing light show. I can't imagine what it takes to put that together but then maybe they can't play it on the piano ... hah!
